What the codes mean before you replace a board
About 60% of Samsung washer 'main board' diagnoses are actually a $25–$95 part. 5E is almost always the drain filter or pump, not the board. 4E is usually a closed shutoff valve or a clogged screen, not the valve. UE is suspension rods or load distribution, not the board. The main board is the right call on AE and on persistent 3E after the Hall sensor and motor harness test good.

What does UE mean on a Samsung washer?
UE (or Ub) is load unbalance — the washer couldn't balance the load during spin. Re-distribute small loads and bath mats, run Rinse + Spin. If UE keeps returning on normal loads, the suspension rods (WF front-loaders) or dampers (WA top-loaders) have worn — $385–$525 kit.
What does dE mean on a Samsung washer?
dE (or dL) is door lock (front-loaders) or lid switch (top-loaders). Front-load fix: open and firmly re-close the door; if dE returns, the door lock PTC has burned out — $245–$345. Top-load fix: lid switch ($165–$245). A bent striker on a front-load door is a common companion cause.
What does SUd or Sd mean on a Samsung washer?
