Viking Repair Cost 2026 Twin Cities Pricing by Appliance & Part

Viking pricing splits at the 2015 acquisition by Middleby — pre-2015 units (especially the original Professional Series ranges) had documented spark module and igniter reliability problems that Viking issued updated parts to fix. We carry both generations of parts so we can resolve the original failure pattern on the first visit. Pricing below covers parts + labor + the $149 trip fee, waived on approval. 1-year written warranty.

What we fix in Minneapolis

The Minneapolis repair mix

Pre-2015 Viking spark / igniter issues

Pre-2015 Viking Professional Series ranges had a documented spark module failure pattern — constant clicking, intermittent ignition, or no spark at all on one or more burners. Viking issued updated post-acquisition parts that solve it; we carry both the spark module and the matching igniter assemblies so the repair holds.

Viking Range — surface and oven ignition

Surface igniter $345–$485 per burner. Spark module (whole-cooktop board) $485–$685. Oven igniter $385–$585. We test continuity, voltage at the module, and burner gap before recommending — sometimes the burner cap is just misaligned, which is a free fix.

Viking Range — bake / broil / convection

Hidden bake element $485–$685. Infrared broiler $585–$785. Convection fan motor $485–$685. The Viking thermostat and oven temperature sensor are common companion failures and we test both whenever we're inside the oven cavity.

Viking Refrigeration (VCBB / VCSB / RVRF)

Evap fan motor $385–$585. Condenser fan $345–$485. Defrost heater $385–$585. Compressor on a built-in column: $1,200–$1,800 (we'll quote against replacement honestly — a column-style Viking fridge is $7,000+ new). EPA Section 608 certified for sealed-system work.

Viking Dishwasher / Beverage Center / Ventilation

Viking dishwasher drain pump $385–$485. Beverage center compressor (sealed system) $885–$1,200. Pro-style hood blower motor $385–$585. All OEM parts with the 1-year written warranty.

Models we work most

Viking Professional Series 30/36/48 ranges (VGR / VGCC / VDSC), Tuscany 36/48, VDR dual-fuel, VCBB / VCSB / RVRF refrigeration columns, FDB / FDW dishwashers, VBCI beverage centers, and VWH / VCWH hood inserts. We carry the OEM parts kits for the high-failure components on the truck.

Repair vs replace — Viking math

Viking Professional Series 48" range: $11,000–$14,000 new. A $1,500 repair pencils out on any unit under 15 years old. Refrigeration columns at $7,000+ new — repair under $1,800 is almost always the right call.

FAQ

Minneapolis questions, answered

  • Average Viking repair cost?

Most Viking appliance repairs in the Twin Cities land $485–$785 all-in — parts, labor, and the $149 trip fee (which is credited toward the repair when you approve the work). Sealed-system or compressor work runs higher and we always quote that up front. Every job ships with a 1-year written parts-and-labor warranty.

  • Why does my Viking range click constantly?

Almost always a failing spark module or a wet burner cap. On pre-2015 Professional Series, it's the documented module failure and we carry the updated part.

  • Do you service Viking sealed-system refrigeration?

Yes — Viking appliance repair service runs across the Twin Cities every weekday, including condos, townhomes, single-family, and small commercial. There's no separate trip charge by neighborhood or ZIP inside the city limits. Property managers and landlords welcome; we handle COI and split-billing on request.

  • Is Viking worth repairing or should I replace?

Viking pro-style at $11,000–$14,000 new makes almost any repair under $1,500 the right call on a unit under 15 years old. We'll give you the math in writing before any parts come off the truck.

  • Do you carry OEM Viking parts?

Yes — spark modules, surface igniters, oven igniters, bake/broil elements, convection motors, and evap/condenser fans on every truck. Sealed-system parts overnight. We're factory-trained on the premium platforms and carry their proprietary diagnostic tools — most general-repair shops have to sub these brands out or order parts after the first visit.

  • Diagnostic fee?

The $149 flat trip fee is credited toward the repair the moment you approve the work, so on any approved appliance repair job in the Twin Cities it effectively disappears into the total. Decline the repair and the $149 covers the in-home visit, full diagnostic, and a written failure analysis you can use elsewhere.
