2. Lay towels. Up to a gallon will spill from the pump filter access on a Duet front-load.
3. Open the lower access panel (front-load) or remove the front kick plate. Unscrew the pump filter cap counter-clockwise.
4. Pull out debris. Coins, hairpins, socks, broken glass — clear everything and rinse the filter.
5. Check the drain hose for kinks behind the washer and confirm the standpipe isn't backed up.
6. Reset: plug the washer back in, run a Drain & Spin cycle. If F9 E1 returns, the drain pump or pressure sensor has failed — that's a tech visit.
