The rotor position sensor (RPS / Hall sensor) is a small PCB bolted to the stator under the tub. It tells the control board where the rotor is and how fast it's spinning. When it fails or its connector corrodes, the controller throws F51 and stops the cycle.

Before we condemn the RPS, we pull the basket and confirm the basket-nut torque. A loose nut lets the rotor wobble enough to scramble the sensor read and throw F51 with the original sensor working fine. Retorque to spec — done in 20 minutes, no parts.
