How to read this library

Modern appliances flash a code when a sensor, motor, valve, or heater reports a fault. The code narrows the diagnosis but doesn't finish it — an LG "LE" is a motor-lock fault, but the actual failed part is one of four (rotor position sensor, hall sensor, main board, or the motor itself). Each brand page walks the code from the fault to the part, with 2026 Twin Cities repair costs.

Reset first, diagnose second

Half of error codes clear with a 60-second full power-cycle: unplug the appliance (or trip the breaker), wait 60 seconds, restore power. If the code returns immediately, it's a real fault. If it stays gone for 24 hours, it was a soft fault (voltage sag, momentary sensor blip) and no repair is needed.
