1. Rotor-position sensor (RPS) failure (most common, years 4–8)
What it is: The hall-effect sensor stack mounted to the stator fails or its wiring corrodes. The control board loses position feedback and faults F51 mid-cycle, usually during the first agitation burst or the spin ramp.
Fix: Replace OEM RPS assembly, verify clean signal through diagnostics mode, run a normal cycle to confirm.
