Quick answer

Hospital & Healthcare Appliance Repair

Hospital and healthcare appliance repair across the Twin Cities covers acute-care cafeterias and nutrition-services kitchens, ambulatory clinics, surgery centers, and senior-living dining halls. We service walk-in coolers and reach-ins, combi ovens and steam tables, commercial dishwashers, Hoshizaki and Manitowoc ice machines on patient floors, vending and breakroom refrigeration, and medication / specimen refrigerators (calibration verification on request — we do NOT certify pharmacy-grade units, but we restore mechanical function and document temp recovery). COIs naming your hospital or health system as additional-insured are issued at no charge. HIPAA-aware techs trained on patient-zone access protocols. Diagnostic is $199 commercial (credited on approval). Standard repairs land $285–$885 all-in; sealed-system work always quoted in writing. Net-15 / Net-30 invoicing.

Services covered

What we repair

Cafeteria & nutrition-services kitchens

Walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, blast chillers, combi ovens (Rational, Alto-Shaam), steam tables, commercial dishwashers (Hobart, Champion). Sealed-system diagnosis, controller / firmware verification, gasket and door work, descale. Scheduled around meal service.

Typical all-in: $285–$985 all-in

Ice machines (patient floors, breakrooms)

Hoshizaki KM / KMS and Manitowoc Indigo NXT cubers throughout the facility — scale cleaning, water-inlet valves, harvest sensors, condenser cleaning, sanitation cycles documented. Patient-floor units get priority dispatch.

Typical all-in: $320–$780 all-in

Breakroom & vending refrigeration

Staff breakroom refrigerators, undercounter coolers, vending-machine compressors, water coolers. Quick-turn for high-traffic areas; quarterly PM keeps gasket and condenser issues from becoming downtime.

Typical all-in: $215–$485 all-in

Medication & specimen refrigeration (mechanical restore)

Mechanical restoration of medication and specimen refrigerators / freezers — compressor work, door / gasket replacement, controller swaps, temp-recovery documentation. We do not certify pharmacy-grade calibration (your CSV / IQ-OQ partner handles that), but we restore the unit to spec mechanically and document recovery to <2°C deviation.

Typical all-in: $385–$985 all-in

Senior-living & assisted-living dining

Walk-ins, reach-ins, combi ovens, dishwashers, ice machines, and resident-unit kitchen appliances (refrigerators, microwaves, ranges). Scheduled around meal service and resident care.

Typical all-in: $215–$685 all-in

Repair vs. replace

Why commercial repair pays back fast

HIPAA-aware techs, badged-in

Technicians trained on patient-zone access protocols and HIPAA-aware behavior — no phone photos in care areas, escorted access where required, sign-in/sign-out at facility security.

COIs on file, additional-insured language standard

Certificates of Insurance naming your hospital, health system, or facility-management contractor as additional-insured are issued at no charge and refreshed annually without prompting.

Quarterly PM aligned to Joint Commission readiness

Quarterly preventive maintenance — condenser cleans, gasket inspection, ice-machine deep-clean, controller verification — with written reports your facilities team can attach to Joint Commission and DOH inspection prep.

Patient-floor ice & breakroom = priority dispatch

Patient-floor ice machines and clinical breakroom refrigerators get front-of-line dispatch. Cafeteria walk-ins are sized to the meal-service window so a 6am failure is back by lunch.

Net-30 invoicing, PO compliance

Clean PO acceptance from health-system accounts payable, Net-15 / Net-30 invoicing after the first paid visit, branded reporting if your system requires it.

Replace-vs-repair documentation

On 15-yr-old cafeteria walk-ins with a marginal repair quote, we provide CapEx-grade documentation your facilities review and finance team need to approve replacement.

If your equipment is down right now

If cafeteria or patient-floor equipment fails

  1. 1. Move active product to backup units

If a cafeteria reach-in fails before meal service, move active product to the nearest healthy reach-in or walk-in. For patient-floor ice failures, source bagged ice from the cafeteria walk-in while we dispatch.

  2. 2. Document the failure

Photograph the controller, internal thermometer, and any error code now. Required for incident logs and helps speed diagnosis.

  3. 3. Quick condenser check

If safe between service, pull the kickplate and vacuum the condenser coil. A felted condenser is the failure roughly 40% of the time and may stabilize the unit while you wait.

  4. 4. Call commercial dispatch

    (651) 364-7466. Tell us the facility name, unit type, location (cafeteria / patient floor / clinic), and whether it's patient-facing — patient-floor units get front-of-line dispatch including after-hours.

FAQs

Common questions from operators

Are your techs HIPAA-aware?

Yes — all field technicians are trained on patient-zone access protocols and HIPAA-aware behavior. No phone photos in care areas, escorted access where your facility requires it, full sign-in/sign-out at security.

Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance?

Yes — COIs naming your hospital, health system, or facilities-management contractor as additional-insured are issued at no charge and refreshed annually without prompting. Typically same business day on initial request.

Do you certify pharmacy-grade medication fridges?

We do not provide pharmacy-grade calibration certification (your CSV / IQ-OQ partner handles that). We do mechanical restoration — compressor work, gasket and door replacement, controller swaps, temp-recovery documentation — and provide before/after temp logs your QA team can attach to the calibration record.

Will you work after-hours to avoid cafeteria meal service?

Yes — we schedule around meal service windows and offer after-hours and overnight dispatch for high-impact failures (walk-ins, combi ovens, dish lines). Patient-floor ice machines get front-of-line dispatch including after-hours.

Do you sign quarterly PM contracts for healthcare facilities?

Yes — quarterly and semi-annual PM contracts with tiered pricing by equipment count. Written reports aligned to Joint Commission / DOH readiness, condenser cleans, gasket inspection, ice-machine deep-cleans, controller verification.

How fast can you respond for a patient-floor ice machine failure?

Front-of-line dispatch within commercial business hours; after-hours / overnight available with surcharge. Tell us at the call that the unit is on a patient floor and we triage accordingly.

What does diagnostic cost on a hospital call?

Commercial diagnostic is $199 and is credited toward the repair when you approve the work the same visit. Most standard repairs run $285–$885 all-in. Sealed-system work and combi-oven steam-generator rebuilds are quoted in writing first.

Do you service senior-living and assisted-living facilities?

Yes — dining-services kitchens, walk-ins, ice machines, and resident-unit appliances. Same HIPAA-aware protocols where applicable; scheduled around resident care and meal service.

Do you carry Certificates of Insurance for property managers, hotels, and hospitals?

Yes. We issue COIs naming your property manager, hospitality group, hospital facilities office, or municipal account as additional-insured at no charge — typically the same business day. General liability and workers' comp are in force year-round; we can raise limits per contract on request.

What payment terms do you offer commercial accounts?

First visit is card-on-file or COD. Once an account is established, we invoice Net-15 or Net-30 with itemized statements aligned to your accounting cycle. We accept POs from restaurant groups, hotel brands, property management firms, school districts, and city and county accounts. ACH and card payments both fine.

Do you offer preventive maintenance contracts?

Yes — quarterly, semi-annual, and annual PM plans tiered by equipment count and equipment class. Every visit includes condenser cleaning, drain flushing, gasket and hinge inspection, electrical-tightness verification, controller and setpoint check, and a written report you can hand to insurers, health inspectors, or franchisors.

What refrigerants and fuel systems are your techs certified on?

Every technician holds EPA Section 608 Universal certification covering R-404A, R-448A / R-449A (Solstice N40, Opteon XP40), R-290 hydrocarbon systems where code permits, and legacy R-22. Cooking-equipment techs are gas-certified for natural gas and LP on ranges, fryers, ovens, and combi-ovens.

Do you handle downtown high-rise, hotel, hospital, and event-venue access?

Yes. We coordinate dock and freight-elevator windows in advance, badge in through hotel or hospital engineering, and work around banquet, service-window, and clinical-department timing. Overnight and pre-open service is available when a daytime window won't work.

Are weekend, holiday, and after-hours calls available?

Yes — after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency dispatch is available for refrigeration, ice, and warewashing failures across the Twin Cities metro. A published after-hours premium applies and is confirmed in writing before the tech leaves the shop.

What warranty comes on commercial repairs?

A 1-year written parts-and-labor warranty on every commercial repair — the same failure mode, on the same unit, within 12 months is covered at no additional charge. Some sealed-system components carry an extended manufacturer warranty on top; those terms are itemized on the invoice.

Do you work on food trucks, ghost kitchens, and mobile catering rigs?

Yes. Truck-mounted reach-ins, undercounter units, generator-fed ice machines, and mobile prep tables are all serviceable — we typically shop-visit at your commissary or overnight parking rather than roadside so the unit can stabilize before diagnosis.

Can you provide written estimates and health-inspector documentation?

Yes. Written estimates are issued before any sealed-system, compressor, or major-component work. On request we provide inspector-ready documentation: repair scope, part numbers, refrigerant type and charge, and the date service restored the unit to spec.

Which Twin Cities cities and ZIP codes do you cover for commercial service?

Full Twin Cities metro — Minneapolis (55401–55488), Saint Paul (55101–55155), Bloomington, Edina, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Woodbury, Eagan, Plymouth, Minnetonka, Roseville, Burnsville, and the surrounding suburbs — plus Hudson, WI 54016 and Western Wisconsin.
