Fix: Confirm 120V at the cord, then test line filter output. Replace OEM line filter — about 1/4 the cost of swapping the main board.

What it is: On heated front-load GFW models the thermal fuse on the heater can open and disable the start circuit. Diagnostic mode reports a heater-fault code (E22 family).

    Plug a lamp in. If the outlet is dead it's the breaker or GFCI, not the washer.

  2. 2. Test the line filter (GFW front-loaders only)

    Pull the top panel. Confirm 120V at the line-filter input and the output. No output = failed line filter — replace before touching the board.

  3. 3. Test the lid lock / door lock

    Top-load: measure lid-switch continuity with lid closed. Front-load: enter diagnostic mode and confirm door-lock motor strokes.

  4. 4. Check the UI / start button response

    Press Start in diagnostic mode. If diag mode starts but normal cycle doesn't, the cycle-selector or start-relay on the main control failed.
