GE ice maker failures
Most common cause: Failed water inlet valve, frozen fill tube, low household pressure, or a failed ice maker module. The flashing green light on the icemaker is a diagnostic — 2 flashes = good harvest, 3+ flashes = fault.
What we do: Run the GE diagnostic (T-pad jumper test), confirm fill volume, swap the OEM inlet valve and ice maker module as needed.

Most common cause: Failed in-door ice maker assembly, broken auger coupling in the door, or a failed mullion harness (the wiring across the door hinge that powers the in-door ice maker). Mullion harness failure is common on GFE, GFD, PFE, PFD series at year 5–7.
What we do: Replace the in-door icemaker assembly and the mullion harness if continuity testing shows a break. We carry the OEM Twin Chill harness on the truck.

Most common cause: Cracked fill tube, failed inlet valve diaphragm, cracked icemaker mold, or — on side-by-sides — a clogged defrost drain icing over and backing water up under the icemaker tray.
What we do: Replace fill tube + inlet valve; clear and re-route the defrost drain if it's the cause (very common on GSS / GSH side-by-sides).

Most common cause: Failed condenser fan (Monogram nugget and cube units run hot in cabinets), failed water pump or recirculation pump, scaled-up evaporator from hard water, or a failed thermostat.

Most common cause: Scale buildup blocking the evaporator and auger, failed compressor on out-of-warranty units, or a failed control board.
What we do: Descale and deep clean per GE service spec, replace control board or compressor as needed. Note: Opal is countertop and often more cost-effective to replace than repair past year 3.
